CHEQUE SCANNING WITH ECLIPSE LITE FROM ROCHFORD THOMPSON

Eclipse Lite is a cost effective, image based cheque scanning system for processing, recording and storing details of incoming cheque payments quickly and accurately.

Eclipse Lite is supplied as an “off the shelf” cheque scanning package with easy PC installation and user configurable options. It offers simple step by step cheque scanning with user friendly interface screens.

Cheque payments are scanned, data is automatically captured (serial number, sort code, account number and amount) and reports are provided for banking. Optionally, customer account information may also be captured against the associated cheque. Once all cheque scanning and processing has been completed, the data is made available in a file format for transfer to a host system. All payments and associated information are stored in an archive (images and data) and can be retrieved instantly to assist in quick and early resolution of bank or customer queries.

Cheque Scanning

Cheques are scanned at 30 documents per minute. Codeline data is automatically captured by an E13B magnetic reader and amounts are automatically captured using Intelligent Character Recognition software. Front and rear images are also taken.

Image Based Data Entry

After cheque scanning all data entry tasks are performed from on-screen document images.

Payment Reference Input

A customer reference can be keyed in e.g. an account or invoice number. This can be written on the reverse of the cheque and keyed from the image on screen or keyed from an original document.

Balance

The facility to balance the input batch total against the total of the keyed cheque amounts is provided, with images available to resolve unbalanced batches.

Output File

A flexible output file is available for data transfer to a host system.

Image Archive Query - All cheques processed through the system are stored in an Image Archive. Items may be retrieved (images and data) by keying in full or partial details associated with the item e.g. cheque serial number, amount or customer reference.
